Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing on emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. It is administered by "laying on hands" on or above the body or from a distance and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.

The practitioner works over the front and back in a slow progression of hand positions (which connect with the energy centres of the body (chakras) and the nervous system at minimum.)

Reiki is accepted by people from many backgrounds and belief systems.

Clinical Research

Reiki Research in person and at a distance:

"Research is showing that Reiki is better than placebo in activating the parasympathetic nervous system, (mediated via the vagus nerve) as measured by reduced heart rate, reduced blood pressure and increased heart rate variability."

"...the vagus nerve plays a key role in processes that regulate the health of the body, including inflammatory responses, glucose regulation, and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal function."

"For patients with chronic health conditions, Reiki has been found to be more effective than placebo for reducing pain, anxiety, and depression, and for improving self-esteem and quality of life."

And Reiki does much more than this. It helps people with all energetic bodies relating to emotional, mental and spiritual issues. As research increases we are seeing more clinical evidence of its efficacy.
